Launched in 2022, Isabel Murtough & Co was created by sisters Isabel Murtough and Erica Conroy. Having always talked about working together, the time was right for them to combine their knowledge, passion and experience to create a family business that is forward thinking and modern, offering honest and reliable advice, as well as a professional and efficient service.
Based in the World Heritage Site of Darley Abbey in Derby, Isabel Murtough & Co are perfectly placed to cover Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Staffordshire and further afield.
Isabel has worked in the antiques and auction industry for over 20 years as an auctioneer and valuer. As former Head of Fine Art at a well known provincial auction house, she has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the industry; from valuing and cataloguing antiques, right through to selling pieces on the rostrum. It is this variety of skills that helps her keep track of the latest trends and values in all areas of antiques, collectables and particularly jewellery.
Isabel is proud to hold the much accredited FGA status - Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Jewellery is where her main passion lies, and she has handled and sold pieces ranging from £100 to £100,000.
Isabel has appeared as guest auctioneer and expert on television shows Bargain Hunt, Flog It!, and more recently The Great Auction Showdown.
Isabel is a knowledgeable and accomplished auctioneer with 14 years rostrum experience, selling everything from jewellery and antiques, to cars and houses. It is this experience that enables Isabel to be able to read the bidders in the room and online, and to know when to push them to their final bid.

Erica has built up vast experience in the property market. She began her career over 20 years ago in Estate Agency before moving on to manage sales and lettings within a Housing Association. For the last few years she has worked in the fast-paced world of property auctions, specialising in the legal side of sales by auction.
Erica enjoys building relationships with clients and solicitors and takes pride in delivering first class customer service. With a keen eye for detail, and a love of meticulous planning, she ensures the effective running of the business.
It is these attributes she brings to the ‘Co’ element of Isabel Murtough & Co, enabling the company to stand out from the competition through an honest, reliable approach and supremely efficient service.
Erica is always looking for a challenge. As well as those that are work related, she loves nothing more than hiking and climbing mountains, and has spent the past few years ‘ticking off’ the Wainwright Fells in the Lake District with her family.
Erica is passionate about mixing the best parts of corporate business with the personal touches of a family run company, to ensure that Isabel Murtough & Co has a reputation second to none.
